Increase Technorati Authority Ranking

Technorati Authority and Technorati Blog Ranking is a popular measure of a blog’s performance. Blogs with high Technorati Authority and Ranking are often considered the top blogs of the blogosphere and, as a result, have a better chance of being featured at Technorati. Being recognized on Technorati will certainly increase your traffic and recognition. Here are a few tips on how to increase your Technorati Authority and Technorati Blog Rank quickly.
Inbound Links
To increase your blog’s Technorati Authority and improve your blog’s Technorati blog rank, all you need to do is to increase the number of inbound links (links from other blogs pointing to your blog) to your blog. Here are several ways to increase your blog’s inbound links.
Claim Your Blog
The first and obvious step is to register an account with Technorati and Claim Your Blog. The Technorati Authority of a blog won’t increase until your blog has been claimed in Technorati.
Now Start Building Links
Your Technorati Authority and Rank will begin to improve as the links back to your blog increase. One common way that bloggers increase the number of links to their blog is to leave comments on ‘DOFOLLOW’ blogs. To help prevent comment spam, many bloggers implement a ‘NoFollow’ on the links in their comments, so if increasing your Technorati Authority is your goal, leaving comments on ‘NoFollow’ blogs will not help to accomplish that. It’s also important to choose blogs that have PageRank. The following is a list of blogs with Pagerank from 3-5 that implement ‘DOFOLLOW’ on their comments.
Visit these blogs and leave a relevant comment with a link to your blog. Do not bother to SPAM them, as they are moderated and your comment will only get deleted if you don’t leave a relevant, useful comment. This will greatly increase the number of links to your blog, which will result in an increase in your Technorati Authority and your Google Page Rank as well.

Here is another huge list of “dofollow” blogs. I use DoFollow here at Dot Com Mogul also.
If you are making a lot of posts and comments and getting a lot of backlinks but your authority rank on Technorati never seems to go up, it is probably because the website or blogs linking to you have not pinged Technorati since they posted your link.
You can search Google and Yahoo for your backlinks (i.e., search for link:dotcommogul.net in Google) and submit all of the blogs or websites that link to you using Technorati’s ping tool. If you have a large list, it might be easier to use Sebastian’s Technorati Ping Application. Technorati will add the backlinks to your blog’s count when it receives the pings, increasing your authority ranking! Don’t forget to ping Technorati with your own URL when you update your website, so your own links out will be counted. I’ve added Technorati to my blog settings under Writing (rpc.technorati.com/rpc/ping) so that my blog automatically pings Technorati when I publish a post.
Viral Linking
Viral linking is frequently used to gain backlinks but I think it should be used with extreme caution if at all. You will gain backlinks very quickly with viral linking, but Google just might ban you when it discovers a lot of link farms linking to the same links. This technique was used a lot by John Chow and, as a result, Google banned him. They have since reindexed his blog but he no longer ranks high for “make money online” or even his own name.
Linkbait
Content is still king and creating quality posts still is an extremely effective way to get backlinks to your blog. Write posts that deliver what people want to read about and they will link to it. It also helps to spread a little link love around yourself if you want to get some back. Link to others and they may check you out and link to you. For an example, I found a great post about how to get tons of free backlinks here.
Dirty Tricks
A lot of bloggers claim to have methods to skyrocket their Technorati Authority overnight, but I would stear clear of them. It’s a good way to get banned from Technorati. John Chow is probably the best example of a blogger intent on manipulating Technorati and it is no surprise that he was banned from the Top 100. Not quite as spectacular as Alex King, John has an authority of 4640 giving him a high position if he was allowed in the Top 100.

From what I’ve heard, having “FAVE” exchange for Technorati is ALLOWED, so you could build rank that way too.
It took me about 5-6 months to reach the Top 10,000. I started a Fave exchange and I participated in one, which boasts me up to 153fans.

i don’t really have a good technorati ranking as of this time, and I am not attempting to increase it either. But it will change in the next few weeks, as I will be racing for ranks (alexa, PR, technorati, etc…)
But i will still comment on blogs which I feel i can really contribute something, with or without the commentluv plug-in.

Technorati has friendly to me maybe because I reached 200 I faved to, so I cannot fave anyone anymore. But what I am happy about them is the blog reaction.
About the do-follow, it is quite a pity for me that I am a no-follow blog because I make paid post, and search engines penalize paid links with a do-follow. Well, there’s always a price to pay.
Thanks.

As an author who finds himself on this list I would like to reinforce the caution about spamming the blogs on this list. I know several of these authors, including me, have instituted comment policies as result of the large amount of drive-by spammy comments that people leave when they click through all the different versions of this same list that are floating around.
Personally I place a high value on conversation and am very protective about the comment space on my blog. I add value to my regular readers by policing the comment box.
When you leave relevant comments on any blog that add value to their readers you have a much higher probability of your comments not being deleted, or worse, marked as spam. And on most of these blogs in the list it is also a good idea to use your name instead of an SEO related tag.
Don’t let yourself get labeled as a spammer. There are no shortcuts to developing relationships and engaging in dialog.

That’s a good question. To tell you the truth, only a handful make it to the top in Technorati but for me it’s a cumulative thing. The same backlinks that get you a higher Technorati rating will also get you higher Pagerank in Google and Yahoo, so if you work on all of the ranking systems, your blog is going to do better overall.

What a comprehensive guide to the mysteries of Technorati this is. While I’ve had my blog claimed on T for some time now, and have a few favorites, I’m a long way from having any real “authority”. My blog is also dofollow although I have no PR (well, I have PR3 on the cached version, but not the active one if that makes any sense at all). While I have no proof, I think that all these social marketing things have some validation and value to your site, but in and of themselves don’t mean as much as quality content and a comment system that gets made good use of (as you have here).
No you can’t write articles that get quality comments day in and day out — but it’s getting these regular jewels that make the day.

Hi, you write a very interesting and informative post for Technorati. Yes, as you say the meaning of good ranking is more backlinks (same as Google). I made a leatle research about technorati tips. You can read it here:

Also, the best way to increase authority is to use Technorati tags on each of yours posts. More about it here:
