Conversation Marketing: Can We Talk?

The latest buzz word in marketing is “Conversation Marketing.” Without ever hearing about conversation marketing until recently, this is the way that I prefer to get a message out about something that I’m endorsing or yes … if you want to hear the dirty word … selling. The phrase that really stood out in my mind was “All marketing is a conversation.”

“The awful truth about marketing is that it broadcasts messages to people who don’t want to listen…. much of business communication is written in contrived and artificial language, supposedly designed to impress, but actually signaling just how impersonal the firm and its professionals are.”

I see so many of the long, hypey big red lettered sales letters and still wonder how that type of marketing can be successful. I know that many “gurus” use them and make money, but in my opinion, you aren’t reaching a large part of the market through this method of communication. Basically, you’re reaching an audience who is looking for a “dream in a box” solution and willing to believe anything that promises that.

To me … and maybe it’s just me, I find those type of sales letters to be more annoying than persuasive. It’s packaged marketing, spoken in a fake voice and often uses scare tactics and unfounded promises to reel their customers in. Many marketers see marketing as a one-sided dialogue … nothing more than a propaganda campaign. This type of marketing rarely answers any questions I might have about the product.

The marketer that is able to reach his market in a real voice and engage his audience in a two-way dialogue is the marketer who is going to be able to build trust and relationships that convert into sales. In the offline world of marketing, where you meet your prospective clients, you have a greater opportunity to employ Conversational Marketing. Instead of giving yet another boring presentation, you can have a question and answer session. In a personal one-on-one presentation, you can give your prospects a handout and then instead of launching into a one-way dialogue of your capabilities and contract issues, see if you can engage your prospect in a conversation to determine what his problems and needs are. Want to Catch a Buzz?

Posted by DotComMogul in Internet marketing, SEO, buzz, marketing

You probably already know some good methods for getting a lot of traffic to your site(s), but in my opinion, buzz marketing ranks at the top, and the best part — it’s Free! If you aren’t using buzz marketing, you are missing out on an avalanche of links, swarms of traffic, and yes — even fame and fortune!

What is Buzz marketing?

Buzz marketing is the art of creating a “buzz” or generating excitement and making your audience hungry for more. With buzz marketing you can be featured on some of the major sites and go viral, without buying a paid review or link, resulting in a swarm of visitors to your site. How would being on the main page of Digg, Propeller or Reddit impact your business? Your traffic would skyrocket and people would link to you creating even more traffic (you might even get so much traffic that your server will go down) Read the rest of this entry »

Article Marketing: Marketing in Real Time

Posted by DotComMogul in Internet marketing, article marketing, marketing

The secret’s out!

What would you say if I told you how to get free publicity, targeted traffic and more sales for your online endeavors? It’s instant, easy and affordable.

How? With well-written articles, distributed to content-hungry web publishers for reprint. Your article’s “About the Author” box builds your expertise in the field, and builds backlinks to your website.

The viral effect of distrituting your content across cyberspace is unparalleled in the field of internet marketing.

An Adaptive Marketing Plan

The advantage of article marketing is that a marketing campaign can be implemented on the fly. It’s as simple as writing a new article. And with an unlimited subscription to an article distribution service such as Article Marketer, there is no further cost. Let me repeat that — no further cost to target an entirely new market niche.

By going with the flow of the market, a affiliate is in a better position to exploit these unexpected marketing opportunities. Identify a trend, write an article, and capture that moment of perfect relevance. This kind of “in real time” marketing can enhance your current article marketing plans perfectly. Experts recommend submitting two articles per category per week for the most impact and greatest benefit. Keep a close ear to the heartbeat of popular trends in your specific industry, and be able to spot trends and identify potential changes at a moment’s notice. My article on Cashing in Google’s Hot Trends is perfect example of “going with the flow” of market trends.

If you see a new niche for your business, begin a new article marketing campaign. Always keep an open mind when it comes to your article marketing plan. The market can be volatile, constantly changing, and full of surprises. This is what makes affiliate marketing so exciting! And, it’s what makes article marketing such an efficient, and affordable, way to keep on top of the market.

I just launched a new Article Directory … Article Buzz … specializing in high quality free content for your website, ezine or newsletter.

Swypefile

Posted by DotComMogul in Internet marketing, marketing

There’s a new internet marketing site launching on Monday I wanted to tell you about. Don’t worry - it’s F-R-E-E.

Swypefile

It’s called Swypefile, and it’s described as:

“A collaborative online marketing swipe file where you can discover, save, share, discuss
and easily search all of the latest marketing news and content you’re interested in.”

If you’re familiar with Digg, it’s going to be similar - except that it’s strictly for internet marketers!

This site could turn out to be hugely popular … Swypefile

… and the cool thing is that all of the content on the site is monetized with Google AdSense ads. Why is this cool? Because any content you submit will include ads with YOUR AdSense publisher ID.

But that’s only the start. If you refer others you’ll… also profit from all of the content THEY submit too!

The site is launching on Monday, and right now they are doing a “private beta” and making last minute tweaks.

I’m inviting you to go and sign up right now so you can get started early and have a head start on everyone else. I predict this site is going to be insanely popular.

It takes 30 seconds to create an account. Check it out: Swypefile

Money-Making Products to Promote

Posted by DotComMogul in Affiliate Marketing, Clickbank, affiliate programs, make money online, marketing

Here are some real money-making products, paying some of the highest commissions in affiliate marketing available. Typically, I make $100 to #300 commissions from these products. I just made $175 commission from their newest product. Why make $20-$30 per sale selling ebooks on Clickbank when you can make hundreds per sale? Joe Bucks gives hundreds of top converting products to sell and free branded websites for many of their products. The branded websites are a real time-saver. You can literally have a full-blown website up and running within 30 minutes with no design or html experience. All you need is a domain name and a hosting account. You can get free hosting at The Red Host

MoreNiche is another company with very high paying commissions and I have done very well with their products. In addition to these, I also sell products and services from Commission Junction, Linkshare, ROI Rocket, Adzoogleads, and Max Bounty. Personally, I don’t like selling informational ebooks. I find selling products to be much easier and a lot more profitable. In addition, there’s what I consider a huge problem with Clickbank. Spybot Search and Destroy and some other anti-spyware programs strip out your Clickbank tracking cookies, so you could send tons of traffic to Clickbank products and never get credited for the sales you make. Spybot Search and Destroy is widely distributed, so the problem is massive. Webroot Spy Sweeper is another anti-spyware program that strips out Clickbank cookies, and I am sure there are more.

More Search Engine Tips

Posted by DotComMogul in Affiliate Marketing, Blogging, Google, SEO, Social Bookmarking, Uncategorized, blackhat, make money online, marketing, search engines, social networking

Here are some other things that I do to get traffic and search engine links. I’ll start with No. 1

USFreeads.com: buy a premium account with USFreeads and place ads/articles about your products. I can’t tell you how much traffic I get from USFreeAds. It’s a lot. In addition, Google spiders the ads and indexes them.

Squidoo: Some people think Squidoo is not as effective as it once was since it’s crackdown on SPAM lenses. I haven’t found that to be true. The only thing really different is you have to build a better lense. More content, less spammy. I just built a lense on getting paid for social networking at Yuwie and FriendsWin, and it ended up on the first page results of Google.

Blogging: Google seems to love Wordpress blogs. Frequent updates to your Wordpress blogs is a great way to drive traffic to your sites or to market from directly. Again, you need to take the time to make informational posts … posts that people actually want to read rather than just a bunch of affiliate banners. Give your readers a reason to return to your blog over and over again. In addition, I think it’s better to get a domain name for your blog, install it using Fantastico from the control panel of your hosting company rather than having it hosted by Wordpress. I had a blog hosted by Wordpress and they banned it, so all that work down the drain. Host it yourself and that’s not going to happen.

Backlinks: Backlinks are crucial for getting sites indexed and getting good ranking from Google. I’m fortunate enough to have purchased the Trackback Generator, a really handy bit of software that was sold by Ruck (limited quantities sold, no longer available), but you can leave comments on blogs, make posts in forums, etc. to get backlinks to your site.

Yahoo Answers: Another great way to market is Yahoo Answers. Look for unanswered questions in your niche or you can even make two Yahoo accounts … one for questions and one for answers and answer your own questions. Answer as many questions a day as you can. You get backlinks and the opportunity to market a product. You do have to be careful … make it sound like spam and you will be banned in short order. Try to make posts that sound helpful.

Social Bookmarking: This is one I use a lot and it gets excellent results, both in direct traffic from the social networks and in backlinks to your site. Traffic coming from the social bookmarking sites is nothing short of phenomenal. If you’re not using social bookmarks for your sites, you’re missing out on a goldmine. Absolutely one of the most reliable and useful products I’ve bought is Bookmarking Demon. It really rocks. Completely automates the social bookmarking process and you can do a bit of blackhatting and create multiple accounts if you’re so inclined.

New version, new features!

* Bookmark Your URLs Automatically
